These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Catered meal planning application and website operated by Catered ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using Catered you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree please do not use Catered.
By accessing or using Catered you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age, have read and understood these Terms, and agree to be bound by them. If you are using Catered on behalf of an organization you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
Catered is a meal planning application that helps users plan weekly meals, discover recipes, generate grocery lists, and connect to Kroger grocery stores for product matching and cart building. Catered also includes Jules, an AI-powered chef assistant that creates original recipes and provides cooking guidance.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time with reasonable notice to users.
You must create an account to use Catered. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account information updated. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at support@livecatered.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
You may not create an account on behalf of someone else or use another person's account without permission.
Free tier: Catered offers a free tier that includes unlimited browsing, saving up to 5 recipes per day, 3 Jules meal generations per month, manual meal planning, the full priced Kroger grocery list, pantry meal suggestions, and recipe import from most links.
Premium: Premium is available for $6.99 per month or $69.99 per year and unlocks unlimited meal planning, receipt scanning to pantry, photo recipe import, rotation and leftovers tools, cooking mode with timers, and full family sharing.
Premium + Jules: Premium + Jules is available for $9.99 per month or $99.99 per year and includes everything in Premium plus unlimited access to Jules, the AI chef, including voice, original recipes on demand, and step-by-step cooking guidance.
Annual billing: Annual plans are billed once per year in advance and include the equivalent of two months free compared to paying monthly.
Billing: Subscriptions are billed in advance — monthly for monthly plans, annually for annual plans. Your subscription automatically renews unless you cancel before the renewal date. You can cancel at any time through your Profile page in the app.
Refunds: All payments are non-refundable except where required by law. When you cancel, your subscription remains active through the end of the period you've paid for, and you will not be charged again. If you believe you were charged in error, or a charge was made without the account holder's authorization, contact support@livecatered.com — we review these case by case.
Price changes: We may change subscription prices with 30 days notice. Continued use of Catered after the price change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new price.
Founding Beta Program: Catered's founding beta is available to the first 100 qualifying families. Founding members receive 90 days of full access at no charge. If a founding member subscribes after the beta period, their rate is $3.99/month for the first 12 months (currently a 60% discount from standard Premium + Jules pricing), after which standard pricing applies. Founding membership benefits, including any physical items such as apparel, are provided upon completion of the beta program's participation requirements, which will be communicated at signup.
You agree to use Catered only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:
Catered allows you to create, upload, and share content including recipes, meal plans, and support communications. You retain ownership of content you create. By submitting content to Catered you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, store, and display that content for the purpose of providing the service.
You represent that you have the rights to any content you submit and that your content does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party.
Recipes imported from third-party sources (social media, recipe websites) remain the property of their original creators. Catered's import feature is provided as a convenience tool and you are responsible for ensuring your use of imported recipes complies with the original creator's terms.
Jules AI chef creates original recipes and cooking guidance using artificial intelligence. AI-generated recipes are provided for informational and inspirational purposes. We make no warranty that AI-generated recipes are safe, suitable for your dietary needs, or free from errors. Always use your judgment when following cooking instructions and consult a medical professional or registered dietitian for dietary advice specific to your health situation. You are responsible for confirming that any recipe, ingredient, or substitution is safe for everyone who will eat it. Always verify allergens and dietary restrictions against product packaging and your own knowledge at the point of use — AI-generated content can be incomplete or incorrect and must not be relied on for allergen safety.
You own recipes and content created with Jules' assistance when saved to your account.
Catered integrates with third-party services including Kroger, Google Calendar, and social media platforms. Your use of these integrations is subject to the third parties' own terms of service and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or content of third-party services.
Kroger product prices and availability are provided by Kroger's API and may not always reflect actual in-store prices. Always verify prices at checkout.
The family sharing feature allows Premium subscribers to share their meal plan calendar with linked accounts. Family viewers access a read-only version of the Premium user's meal plan. The Premium account holder is responsible for the use of their shared meal plan by linked family members including any minors.
You may delete your account at any time through the Profile page in the app or by contacting support@livecatered.com. Upon account deletion your personal data will be deleted within 30 days subject to our data retention policy. Subscription fees already paid are non-refundable upon voluntary account deletion, except where a refund is required by law.
The Catered name, logo, app design, and original content are owned by Catered and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not use our trademarks, logos, or branding without our prior written permission.
Catered is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind either express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
Nutrition information displayed in Catered is provided for informational purposes only and is sourced from third-party databases. It may not be accurate for all ingredients and preparations. Do not rely on Catered for medical or dietary advice.
Grocery prices shown in Catered are estimates based on Kroger's API data and may not reflect actual prices at checkout due to regional variation, product availability, or timing.
To the maximum extent permitted by law Catered shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages including loss of data, revenue, or profits arising from your use of or inability to use the service. Our total liability to you for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of Catered shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Catered and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses including reasonable legal fees arising from your use of Catered, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.
Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of Catered will be resolved through binding individual arbitration rather than in court, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court if it qualifies. You and Catered each waive the right to a jury trial and to participate in a class action. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing support@livecatered.com within 30 days of first creating your account, stating your intent to opt out.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of South Carolina.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email and by posting a notice in the app at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of Catered after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
